Many of you have heard of the Still We Rise exhibit, a traveling exhibit that is making its way through our community spotlighting the histories, culture, and lived experiences of Black members of our communities. On behalf of Pastor Andre Crockett, Nicole Asong Nfonoyim-Hara, and their partners working on this effort, the Rochester Area BIPOC Professionals Cohort is hosting a special panel event and luncheon at Rochester Area Foundation to celebrate Still We Rise: Rochester’s Black Legacy.
Still We Rise is a traveling exhibit going throughout our community which launched at a special Black History Month event on February 5, 2024. This exhibit highlights Black history in our region and celebrates community building. The goal is to extend the conversations about Black history beyond the month of February as Still We Rise travels widely throughout our community during the rest of the year. Our event will feature local Black leaders and provide an opportunity to learn about the impact of Black culture and Black leadership in our community across generations.
This special event is open to all community members, while centering black voices and lived experiences. Lunch will be provided by Jersey Jo’s. Registration is required for food planning purposes. Please use the link below to register.
