There is a panel on homelessness scheduled for October 22nd at Assisi Heights from 6:30 – 8:00. We are sharing the stories of those with the experience of homelessness in our community.
Here is the format:
- a story from someone (yet to be named) experiencing homelessness or recently finding housing and services
- Greg of G.E.Koenig Photography showing us the faces of homelessness and how he has collected his photos
- Nicole Andrews – stories of rebuilding, and working with those getting off the loss of shelter and also needing services in the schools
- Manasseh Kambaki - working with the youth in our community who are experiencing homelessness
- Dan Fifield and The Landing – the challenges to how we as a community need to respond to what is happening in Rochester
Open - Questions for the panel
Please let people know about this event. Our purpose is to humanize and lessen the fear of those living on our streets, sleeping in the skyways, relying on whatever shelter they can find temporarily or for the night, and support the work of those who are giving service to our friends.
Preregistration is encouraged at https://rochesterfranciscan.org/events/ Find the event on the calendar for October 22nd. No fee; donations appreciated and will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
