DETAILS
This event is part of a monthly dialogue series. IMAA will bring a new topic that relates to refugees, immigrants, and cultural diversity. This month we will be talking about restorative justice. Heard the term but never looked into further? Your first time hearing about it?
Restorative Justice has been around since the 1970s and offers an alternative way of looking at criminal justice that repairs the harm done to people rather than punishing offenders. We will be talking more about the concept, how it is a common practice in many cultures, and learning more about a new group here who is currently practicing this model.
Join us for a couple hours of of meaningful conversation and hopefully you will leave the dialogue feeling more enriched, reflective, and self-aware. Or, at the very least, you will leave with yet another one of Café Steam's delicious coffee or tea drinks in your belly.
Facilitators will be Abe Kamara from Three Rivers Restorative Justice and Hakima Ali from IMAA.
Are you inspired to join?
Space is limited to 10, and we are still being cautious with COVID among us. Masks are required.
