Message from Minnesota Humanities Center
Casey DeMarais | Director of Strategic Partnerships
Hello,
As you might know, together we celebrated Father Columba Stewart, who was honored as the 2019 NEH Jefferson Lecturer in the Humanities, with an enlightening conversation about Why Cultural Heritage Matters. This chat with Fred de Sam Lazaro explored Father Columba’s critical work with The Hill Museum & Manuscript Library digitizing historical manuscripts in partnership with communities around the world. Watch the conversation on tpt’s website.
On Thursday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m., we invite you to join us for a Facebook Live panel discussion surrounding Why Cultural Heritage Matters. Facilitated by MHC’s CEO Kevin Lindsey, you’ll hear from Rabbi Marcia Zimmerman, Shana Sippy, Jim Bear Jacobs, and Patrick Henry as they discuss the local and global significance of Father Columba’s insights and how the humanities play a fundamental role in helping make sense of the world around us.
We’ll be sharing content every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to better connect Minnesotans during this time of distancing. So be sure to follow MHC on Facebook and tune in each Thursday!
I hope you are staying safe and well during these unusually challenging times,
Casey
