1. Strengthening Adult Capacities to Improve Child Outcomes: A New Strategy for Reducing Intergenerational Poverty, by Jack P. Shonkoff, Harvard University
2. Case Study: Four Oakes This Alliance member agency based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa created TotalChild which takes a wholistic view to address immediate needs while providing wraparound support services to the family until the child reaches adulthood. Susan referenced how Four Oakes is working with housing services as a component of support services.
3. Attached are materials about The Opportunity Alliance in Portland, Maine. You will find the evaluation report that explores the impact and cost savings from the reduction of child removal. This organization is a pilot site in the Strategy Counts initiative. In addition, I attached a profile of the organization, a graphical storyboard, and this link to a video interview series with CEO Mike Tarpinian.
4. Finally, we invite you to look at attending the 2014 Neighborhood Revitalization Conference on July 24-25 in Washington, DC. This is a great convening of community leaders.
Susan and I would like to schedule 60 minutes for a follow up call with you and Joanne Stormer of the Rochester Area Foundation. A few times that could work for us include April 28 (between 10AM and 1PM); April 29 (between noon and 2PM); and May 1 (between noon and 2PM or 3PM to 5PM). Could you send me a few times that work for you and Joanne?
Thank you.
Mike
